MESSEGE FROM THE DEAN
Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Law, Tribhuvan University.
Faculty of Law, Tribhuvan University is the oldest and largest institute in the field of legal education at national level. It has been recognized as a leading institution at the national and international level for imparting legal education. The study of law at Faculty of Law of the Tribhuvan University aims at an analytical understanding of the subjects, systems, theories and institutions in the legal field. Faculty of Law of the Tribhuvan University is the time tested legal institution. It is the national hub of legal studies. We don’t aim only to produce "lawyers". We aim to produce leaders who can be successful in whatever path they choose. Since its inception in 1959, the Faculty of Law has been producing many legal luminaries, Supreme Court and High Court judges, leading advocates, political leaders, policy makers and trend-setter in all walks of life.
The Faculty equally emphasizes on developing an interdisciplinary approach to the study of law. Apart from traditional pedagogic methods of teaching, the Faculty adopts seminar methods, wherein weekly legal discourses are organized. Eminent law scholars from the country and abroad are invited to interact with faculty and students. The Faculty also organizes discussions on contemporary legal problems, through joint seminars with other institutions. Further, the Faculty intends to engage the available human resources in the region and other parts of the world to contribute towards establishing centers of excellence in the fields of law.
We offer three year LL.B., Ten Semester B.A.LL.B., Four Semester and Six Semester LL.M programmes. These programmes are conducted by the constituent and affiliated campuses. The PhD programmes are looked after directly by the Dean's Office.
Among the courses offered by the Faculty are: Legal Theory and Jurisprudence, Comparative Legal System, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, International Law, Environmental Law, Refugee Law, International Trade Law, Law of International Institutions, International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, Law of the Sea, Private International Law, Intellectual Property Law, and many more.

I hope that your interaction with each other will open the door of knowledge and also contribute to the development of the nation and the region after receiving the law degree from Faculty of Law.
